When Rylee McGowan joined the Belding Middle School Student Council in sixth grade, she had a pretty clear idea of a certain project she wanted to accomplish over the next few years.
“I always wanted to do something for Earth Day,” said McGowan, who recently finished the eighth grade. “One of those projects was to plant a tree around the school, dedicate it to Student Council and take pictures of it as it grew.”
