The Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission approved a specific-use permit to allow a Verizon retail store to operate at the Arbor Crossing shopping center.

The Verizon store seeks to lease 2,077 square feet at the center, which is located south of Dixon Lane at 5810 Long Prairie Road in Flower Mound.

The commission’s vote allows the business to operate with a total of 85 parking spaces shared among all the tenants in the retail center. The town’s ordinance requires 133 spaces for the shopping center, according to discussion at the Jan. 25 meeting. A parking study presented by Lambeth Engineering found adequate parking existed for the businesses at the center.

With the commission’s approval, the specific-use permit will now advance to Town Council for consideration.
