WARSAW, Poland (AP)— The Sumatran Titan is an endangered giant foul-smelling blossom, also called the corpse flower.
The Sumatran Titan went into a rare and short bloom at a botanical garden in Warsaw. Onlookers waited hours to see the stinky blossom.
The odor that comes from the flower is described as “a dead body odor”. The scent is meant to attract pollinating insects that feed on flesh, as reported by the AP.
The rare bloom happened on Sunday and was already starting to wither on Monday.
The live video of the bloom can be watched here on the Warsaw University Botanical Gardens’ website.
