Genshin Impact is filled with many different materials for players to find throughout its world. While some of these materials are used for cooking and crafting, others are required for character ascensions.
When performing a character ascension in Genshin Impact, each character has their own different requirements for materials. One category for these materials is listed as "local specialty." This usually means that the material is one from the character's homeland.
The character Xingqiu is a hydro element sword user from the country of Liyue. While there are many different materials in that country that could serve as his local specialty material, the one he has is exclusive to only him: Silk Flowers.
With Silk Flowers currently only being used for Xingqiu's character ascensions, some players may not know where to get them. This can also become a problem with more and more Silk Flowers being needed for each of Xingqiu's ascensions. The number needed starts at three, but goes all the way up to 60 for the final ascension.
Since Xingqiu is from Liyue, that is the country to start the search for Silk Flowers. Unlike Sweet Flowers, Silk Flowers grow in bright red bushes. Players can tell that they are ready to be picked because the Silk Flowers players actually need will be a paler red than the red of the bush.
Silk Flower bushes can only be found in two different places around Liyue. The first place is by Wangshu Inn, where there a few bushes on the island part of the inn growing by the roads. Their other location is in Liyue Harbor. The ones in Liyue Harbor can be found at Yujing Terrance with players just needing to look out for the red bushes.
Players also have the ability to purchase Silk Flowers with Mora. The first person players can buy them from is Ms. Bai in Qingce Village. She sells five Silk Flowers for 1,000 Mora each with players needed to wait for her shop to restock before they can buy more from here. The second person is Verr Goldet in Wangshu Inn. Her prices and maximum stock for Silk Flowers are the same as Ms. Bai with the flower stock refreshing every two days.
In order to have Xingqiu go through every step of character ascension, players will need 168 Silk Flowers in total. Those looking to use Xingqiu on their teams may want to begin stocking up on these rare flowers as soon as possible.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and currently in development for the PS5 and Switch.
