The city of Bedford announced in a Nov. 20 news release that it had hired Andrea Roy to be its next director of development, working under former Flower Mound Town Manager Jimmy Stathatos.
“She has had tremendous success working with new economic development, as well as redevelopment,” the city of Bedford said in the statement, “and with her planning and development experience, she will be hitting the ground running in her new role at the City of Bedford.”
Stathatos left his role with the town of Flower Mound in September after accepting the city manager job with Bedford.
Roy will begin her new job Jan. 4, according to the Bedford release.
The town of Flower Mound hired Roy in 2017. She had previously worked in other North Texas cities, including Carrollton, Arlington and Coppell.
It was unclear late Nov. 23 when Roy’s final day with Flower Mound would be, or what the transition to an interim or permanent economic development director would look like.
A town of Flower Mound spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Flower Mound is currently conducting a search for its next town manager.
