The Davis Flower Arrangers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, via Zoom for a holiday workshop presented by Jan Goehring, a former vice president and former program chair of Davis Flower Arrangers, not to mention one of the groups all-time favorite presenters.
In addition, she is a National Garden Club accredited judge, a popular workshop instructor throughout the area, including the Crocker Museum, and a student of Ikebana, Japanese floral arranging. Club members can join her and learn how to use the principles of design to create their own unique holiday arrangements.
Goehring is thrilled to share new ideas because she knows everyone is looking for creative ways to brighten up our home for the holidays. She will guide participants through building their own seasonal creation by demonstrating how to use a unique container, lights, water tubes, dried branches and flowers, as well as holiday sparkles.
The container for the workshop is a Styrofoam shape, not your typical vase, but rather one that can be reused to create an infinite variety of arrangements. Goehring has put together a kit with all the materials needed to participate in this evening’s holiday workshop. To reserve an optional kit for $20, members should contact sdegra…@gmail.com before Nov. 27, and then they will be notified about the date to pick up the kit at 2137 St. Elias Place in Davis. Checks for the design kits should be made out to Davis Flower Arrangers.
Anyone who would like to join should write a check to Davis Flower Arrangers for $40 and send it to Stephanie Hunt, 2137 St. Elias Place, Davis, CA 95616. Members have access to all monthly Zoom presentations held at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of September through May. Each month members receive a newsletter from Sundari, the president of the Davis Flower Arrangers, with the description of each month’s program or workshop. In addition, an invitation to the Zoom meeting will be sent a few days prior to the meeting and a recording of the meeting will be available. Members are invited to share their arrangements at the end of the Zoom meetings and share pictures of arrangements they have made for the website.
