A new flower patch is blooming in Eden.
The Hill is an acre and a half sunflower field that saw its first buds pop up two weeks ago.
In those two short weeks, The Hill has become an attraction for people in the Southtowns to take pictures and buy flowers.
The owner's original motivation to plant the field wasn't this successful though.
"I'm a beekeeper and this is my second season of beekeeping and there's a point in time during the summer that actually there's no flowers, very little at least for the bees to work on," said owner Noah Wichlacz. "And I wanted to bridge the gap between fall and spring with the honey flows. So this is our idea, my father and I, to plant the sunflowers and it turned into what it is today."
He plans for the field to grow during the next few summers, without stepping on the toes of other sunflower field owners.
