Flower fields as far as the eye can see? There’s something about the beauty of flowers that can add a little sunshine to your day. If frolicking through the flower fields sounds like fun time then make sure to grab your camera and take note of these flower fields that will surely bring a smile to your face.

Illinois
Von Bergen’s
Where: 9805 IL-173, Hebron
Cost: $5 per person, ages 3 and under free. Sunflowers available for purchase for $2 per stem.
Enjoy the lovely beauty surrounding you as you meander through the sunflower maze with ample photo stops including oversized chairs and platforms. After exiting the maze, continue the fun with more photo opportunities including one on a tractor. Kids will likely head straight to the play area or the “train." Say hello to their farm animals including their adorable pot-bellied pig. When hunger strikes grab food at Crandall’s Restaurant food truck, where they serve chicken and waffles.
Note: The second phase of the maze is anticipated to last until August 16, and hope to have their final one open in October. Check their Facebook page for current updates.
Goebbert’s Pumpkin Patch
Where: 42W813 Reinking Road, Pingree Grove
Cost: $5 per person. $1 for large sunflowers, 50 cents for small sunflowers.
Enjoy a nice walk through the sunflower maze with plenty of photo stops. As you stroll through, take your pick of sunflowers from the many varieties that you see. (Don’t forget to borrow their pruning shears to cut your own sunflower.) When you’re done make sure to pick out a few veggies to bring home.
Stade’s Farm and Market
Where: 3709 Miller Road, McHenry
Cost: $5 per person, $5 for 3 sunflowers
Simply wander through the sunflower field, take all the photos, then channel your inner Joanna Gaines by purchasing one of their awesome galvanized vases. For $25, you can fill it up with as many flowers including zinnias that your heart desires. Interested in picking veggies? They have other things to pick such as green beans and peppers. Stade’s is hoping to have the sunflower fields until the fall.

Heap’s Pumpkin Farm
Where: 4853 US Highway 52, Minooka
Cost: $15 per person (includes one bloom to take home and activities)
Looking for flowers … and pumpkins? Kill two birds with one stone and head on over to Heap’s Pumpkin Farm where they’ll have both waiting for you! Endless photo ops await with over 5 acres of sunflowers and 1 acre of zinnias. Cut your own flowers to take home then enjoy the unlimited access to all other activities on the farm. Sunflower Harvest starts Sept. 4.
M&D Farms
Where: 14946 S. Bell Road, Homer Glen
Cost: $5 per person on weekdays, $7 per person on Saturdays and Sundays, ages 3 and under are free. $2.50 for fresh-cut sunflowers.
Strike a pose with the sunflower field in the background. Want photos with your fur babies? Leashed pets are allowed in the field. M&D Farms is hoping the bloom to last until mid-September.
Nettle Creek Lavender Farm
Where: 8255 Pioneer Road, Morris
Cost: U-pick is $8 per bouquet (appointment only). Tours by appointment only.
Located on 4 acres next to Nettle Creek, the small farm has been growing lavender for more than 20 years with over 1,000 lavender plants blooming at various times from June-September. In addition, they grow a variety of cut flowers and offer U-pick around mid-August (appointment only). Find an herb display garden at the front of the property, a small apiary and walk around the field just behind the farm stand. You can also simply relax at the gazebo, benches or bistro tables located around the property. At the farm stand, they sell honey as well as other lavender and herb-inspired products using the honor system.

Indiana
Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch
Where: 17904 Grant St., Lowell, Ind.
Cost: $5.95 per person (online), $8.95 per person (on-site). Ages 2 and under are free.
Their one and a half acre U-Pick flower fields are bursting with color. A few of the flowers ready for the picking include sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, marigolds and black eyed susans. Frolic through the 4-acre wildflower meadow and sunflower field. Taking a photo in front of the vintage truck full of flowers is priceless! Come for the U-Pick flowers, stay for their delicious donuts (weekends only). Open select days until Sept. 6.
County Line Orchard
Where: 200 S. County Line Road, Hobart, Ind.
Cost: $1 per person. Sunflowers cost $2 for large or $2 for small bunch.
Soak in the sun in the sunflower field and find your perfect sunflower. Don’t feel like looking for your own sunflower? They sell them too. Stay for more fun on the farm like the kids farm, maze and train. Picking available mid to late September.
Wisconsin
New Life Lavender and Cherry Farm
Where: E10766 County Road W, Baraboo, Wis.
Cost: No admission cost to enter fields. The farm tour costs $12 per person. Check for special events such as lavender U-pick lavender classes or lavender wreath making.
Conveniently located between Madison and Wisconsin Dells in Baraboo, New Life Lavender and Cherry Farm boasts more than 25 varieties of lavender, 10,000 lavender plants and 5 acres of wildflower fields. The lavender farm is a great diversion and perfect place to stop and stretch your legs, smell the flowers and indulge in lavender goodies such as homemade lavender ice cream or their homemade lavender and cherry pie. Yum!
Thompson Strawberry Farm
Where: 14000 75th Street, Bristol
Cost: $25 per car (up to 6 people), more than 6 people is $5 per person. Includes a dozen pick-your-own sunflowers or zinnias. Additional flowers cost $1 per flower or $10 per dozen.
This famous strawberry farm has opened up a 15-acre sunflower patch this year. Walk through the paths, take in the natural beauty and find a dozen of your favorite sunflowers to bring home. Don't forget to bring something to cut the flowers with as well as a vase or bag to put them in. Water will be provided for your flowers. Open now until the middle of September.
