WM Strains Madness 2021: A Flower is Crowned - Weedmaps News

flower.indah.link

We came into Weedmaps Strain Madness 2021 with 32 weed strains ready to claim the title for “Best Strain In The Game.” While we hoped there may be variance from last year's contest, for the second year in a row, the people have spoken, and OG Kush has been crowned as the champion yet again.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Strain Madness 2021 tournament.

Total votes

There were more than 180,000 total votes throughout all of the matches. Thank you for the amazing turnout!

Before showering praise on the ultimate champion, let's a take a look at the total votes for each of the top eight contenders received:

  1. OG Kush - 18,577
  2. Pineapple Express - 14,586
  3. Gelato - 13,992
  4. Purple Haze - 13,527
  5. Sour Diesel - 12,205
  6. Blue Dream - 12,105
  7. GG4 - 9,353
  8. Alien Kush - 9,120

OG Kush crushed it with a total of 18,577 votes over the course of Strain Madness — and it's not surprising to see Pineapple Express cruising right behind. Disappointed, Alien Kush will have to dry its tears and hope it makes a screaming entrance next year.

If you're out of weed and wondering what to buy next, consider celebrating OG Kush's victory this week with a pipe or vape full of the mega-popular winner.

— Hannah Meadows

OG Kush's path to victory

We asked contributor Dante Jordan to revisit each round to see how OG Kush became the 2021 champion.

Round 1: OG Kush vs. Strawberry Cough

From the moment OG Kush stepped onto the figurative strains court, it knew that no one could touch its majesty. First matchup was against Strawberry Cough, in which OG Kush absolutely blasted the fruit-forward sativa out of the water by a score of 4,222 votes to 1,614 votes. OG's performance was so dominant that by the second half, its starters were on the bench flipping water bottles over like the 2016 Cavs against the Knicks.

Round 2: OG Kush vs. Wedding Cake

After sending Strawberry Cough to the crib, OG Kush found itself up against its most formidable opponent yet: Wedding Cake. We know what Wedding Cake brings to the table: hype and nationwide notoriety backed by high-quality genetics, aroma, flavor, and experience. And with the extreme popularity of Wedding Cake in modern cannabis, we thought it might be a strong enough team to put OG Kush's run to bed. NAH, SON.

In the end, with a score of 4,273 votes to WC's 3,348, OG Kush's veteran savvy and experienced roster proved to be an undefeatable force for the up-and-coming hybrid.

Round 3: OG Kush vs. Alien Kush

When a basketball team goes to war on the court, they come out one of two ways: completely drained and unable to continue on, or even more powerful through the growth that facing adversity brings. OG Kush was the latter, as evidenced by the way that it treated Alien Kush like a high school B team. By putting 4,428 votes to Alien Kush's measly 864, OG Kush basically told its opponent, “Never mention me, my team, or my coaches ever again.”

Round 4: OG Kush vs. Gelato

Beasting through the tournament led OG Kush into the Fire Four, where we got the battle of #1 seeds that the world's been waiting for: OG Kush vs Gelato.

Gelato is quite simply one of the best strains ever and a huge reason why many of us are so obsessed with chasing “exotic” strains and flavors, so we expected it to push OG to the wire — possibly even sending the Original backbone of California genetics home with its head down.

Nope. OG Kush stuck to the game plan that got it here, put up 3,061 votes to its opponent's 1,783, and in the end, Gelato was reminded that its time of supreme reign may come one day, just not in 2021.

Finals: OG Kush vs. Purple Haze

Standing in the finals, after defeating Strawberry Cough, Wedding Cake, and Gelato, OG Kush found itself against the 2021 Strain Madness Cinderella Story: Purple Haze.

To get here, Purple Kush made a completely unexpected run through Super Lemon Haze, Blue Dream, and Pineapple Express. Unfortunately for the legendary Haze strain, the people's love of purple weed, relaxing effects, and Jimi Hendrix was nowhere near enough juice to get OG Kush up out the paint. And in the end, with a number of 2,593 votes to Purple Haze's 1,117 votes, we were able to crown Original Kush as the first-and-only two-time Strain Madness champion of the world.

Will OG Kush ever be defeated in Strain Madness? Only time will tell. But until that point, it will continue to be the undisputed heavyweight champion, and unanimous MVP of all things weed.

'Genshin Impact' Windblume Festival flower choice: What all 6 options mean - Inverse

flower.indah.link

You’re gonna be a star, kid. I mean a Windblume Star. Genshin Impact version 1.4 features the Windblume Festival event where you celebrate Mondstadt’s Anemo Archon, Barbatos. During the festival’s closing ceremony, one lucky Mondstadtian is named the Windblume Star. That means they get to choose what flower adorns the Barbatos statue in Mondstadt. This year, the Windblume Star is you.

Your flower choice is surprisingly political. Everyone in Mondstadt has an idea of what should or shouldn’t be the Windblume flower placed on the Barbatos statue. So what’s the best flower choice?

What’s the best Genshin Impact Windblume Festival flower choice?

As you speak to Jean for the Windblume Festival quest, “Dream of Wind and Flowers,” you’ll be asked to choose between six flowers: Dandelion, Windwheel Aster, Cecilia, Small Lamp Grass, Sweet Flower, and Wolfhook.

Depending on your choice, you’ll prompt a different response from Paimon.

If you select a Dandelion or Windwheel Aster, Paimon will say: “Ahhh ... throwing your weight behind one of the people's favorites! Windblumes must be (Dandelions or Windwheel Aster) after all!”

If you choose a Cecilia, Paimon will say: “Oh! Same idea as Beatrice, Cecilias for Windblumes. Pretty niche, but not without advocates!”

If you choose a Small Lamp Grass, Paimon will say: “Oh! Same idea as Nimrod, Small Lamp Grass for Windblumes ... A flower to light up the dark!”

A Sweet Flower in Genshin ImpactmiHoYo

If you choose a Sweet Flower, Paimon will say: “Oh! Same idea as Sucrose, Sweet Flowers for Windblumes. A flower that has lasted through the ages!”

If you choose a Wolfhook, Paimon will say: “Oh! Same idea as Razor, Wolfhooks for Windblumes. Spiky and tingly!”

The best choice you can make is whatever flower you already have access to. You’ll have to donate one flower of your choice so try to do one that you won’t have to farm. If you don’t have any of the six floral options in your inventory, choose Dandelion. You’ll be able to find Dandelions directly outside Mondstadt’s gate, making them an easy flower to gather.

Is there a wrong flower choice for the Windblume Festival?

There is no wrong choice in this case. There aren’t any rewards that you’ll miss out on if you make a mistake. You won’t be thrown to the wolves if you chose a Cecilia or a Sweet Flower. The politics alluded to by Paimon’s statements like “Cecilias for Windblumes. Pretty niche, but not without advocates,” don’t appear in any capacity.

You’ll basically get the same ending no matter what you do.

Almost all flower choices prompt this response when you interact with them after the cutscene:

“The (flower choice) on the altar sways gently in the breeze ...”

You’ll get a slightly different thought if you chose a Wolfhook:

“The breeze comes, but the Wolfhook on the altar doesn't move at all ... what a tough customer!”

Ultimately, these are cosmetic differences. Be yourself and choose the flower that gives you joy or the one that’s most accessible from your location. You’ll be able to watch it stand proudly at the Barbatos statue for the duration of the Windblume Festival.

Pasque Flower Hike in the Fertile Sand Hills April 3 - Crookston Daily Times

flower.indah.link

Enjoy a guided spring hike to view pasque flowers blooming in the Fertile Sand Hills on Saturday morning, April 3.

The lavender pasque flowers, sometimes referred to as prairie crocus, are one of the first prairie flowers to bloom each spring. Hundreds of pasque flowers annually bloom throughout the Fertile Sand Hills with a high concentration in the Death Valley area—the primary destination of Saturday’s hike.

Pasque refers to Easter Passover and is the Old French spelling for “Easter,” which is often the time of its blooming.

Pasque flower is the Manitoba provincial flower and the state flower of South Dakota which adopted it as the official floral emblem on May 5, 1903, along with the motto, “I lead,” complimenting pasque’s first bloom of the spring.

There are many reported medicinal uses of the pasque plant by American Indians and European herbalists.

For those interested in joining the hike to check out the pasque flowers and the Fertile Sand Hills, take Summit Avenue west off of Minnesota Highway 32 (just south of the Fertile downtown area). Go west past the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center Nature Center to the parking area and trailhead at the top of the hill.

Wayne Goeken will lead the hike, with proper social distancing, to an area with abundant pasque flowers in bloom.

The hike will leave from the parking area at 10:30 a.m. with a return expected by noon.

The hike is about 1.4 miles and will go along some uneven terrain and through a sand dune area.

For more information, call Goeken at 218 280-0516 or email him at wgoekenmn@gmail.com.
